Jesus was crucified between two thieves. This Sculpture is a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice on his last day. The base is hand carved from laminated planks of American Eastern Black Walnut, and is 23”x10”. Jesus’ cross is 14” x 7-1/2”, and is hand carved from Fiddleback Oregon Big Leaf Maple. This cross is carved to simulate Jesus ascending with open arms as He extends His mercy and grace to humanity. The cross also symbolizes “IT IS FINISHED” with rising spirit, divine love, welcome, and atonement,. The thieves’ crosses are each 11” x 5-1/2” and hand carved from Claro Walnut.

The plaque is pure copper engraved with "Father, Into Your Hands I Commend My Spirit", the final words of Jesus on the cross, recorded in Luke 23:46. It's a profound prayer of trust and surrender, adapted from Psalm 31:5. These words express Jesus' complete reliance on God, even in the face of death, and are used by Christians as a prayer of deep faith, signifying returning one's life and will to God.
